Good boots for thick ankles and long distances.
Wide feet (bont's calculator says wide/double wide, while normal shoe sizes say EE/EEE), but also thick ankles. (From pictures the knee bone is a good bit bigger than other skaters).
Does anyone have know which boot manufacturers have the widest sizes? Especially about room in the ankle area. Bont seems to win with giving the options, but do any other manufacturers have other larger foot molds that they use?
Skated short track about 20 years ago, got back into skating seriously this past year. Having fun with doing the long miles these days. Have tried one boot through my local group, but not happy with it. Just got some 125s and strapped them to some older Rollerblade Tempest boots and they are lovely for long miles, but missing out on some top speed. I remember loving the feel of my short track boots, but do know they were a couple sizes bigger to accommodate the extra foot width. Seems I'm looking at Bont or custom from what I've seen.
