Low cost skates like you bought are not made to have replaceable components. That is their planned obsolescence or limited life. In skates that have replaceable components the axles are either 7mm or 8mm.

I agree and think iristhomas1299 is a bot and should be blocked.

Wheel hardness seems less precise than you would expect and it seems to be affected by the rink surface and finish too.. With some wheels it is VERY easy to get flats. One of the hardest habits I had to break was doing t-stops. T-stops are great …

I am a freestyle skater and had tried various branded bearings including roll-lines. I use bearing I get from bearing dealers rather than the skate manufacturers. The bearings I use now are made for electric motors at 20K revolution speed. When I…

While I was saying I've never had an issue with the nylocks, I have had some equipment failures too. There is definitely differences in materials and quality in various skates. The two worst failures I have had were a broken king pin and a shredde…

I have a old pair of 297's that I have worn almost to death. My wife switched to Edea's and for that switch she tried a few of their styles. From her experience you should check the edea's are not too stiff. My wife's are stiff but that is what she…

I have a pair of imperial lites with the stops. I freestyle skate on that pair. I have an old pair of imperials I used for years too.

In Illinois Lombard Roller Skating Rink is closing at the end of this season, no exact date but I think early July. They are selling the rink to a developer to build more town homes.

I have never had an issue with the nylock nuts. I am speaking on multiple pairs of skates.

my wheels are about 26mm to 27mm wide.

I primarily skate indoors. My usual pair of skates has 55mm wheels. I need to use this size for the plates. I have skated on larger wheels with other plates. I do prefer the smaller diameter for free style skating. Derek

I have used spacers for years on a variety of skates. I was taught that the spacers need to be used to ensure the bearings stay aligned. I am a freestyle skater and have had some hardware failures, so I take every advantage to keep those to a mini…

First choose what kind of skate plate you want. What I mean depending on the skating style you like you should first pick plate, then go from there. In almost all cases there will be cheaper heavy weights and lighter weight alternatives that will …

I buy bearings from bearing resellers. The last bunch I bought were sealed with both sides covered. These are typically used for small electric moors and are rated for use up to 20K RPM. I use a regular bearing press to remove and install bearing…

I would disagree on buying cheap bearings. I have had cheaper bearings that literally fell apart as I skated. I'm not saying not to be price conscious but I will tell you I know I am hard on my skates. I skate free style and that puts a lot of we…

You might want to call them and check the part number and pricing. I read the numbers off the paperwork I got. This was a couple years ago, I had bought 3 sets of bearings and have since used them all. I did not save the individual packaging. I…

I think 627 is the model/size used in our quad skate wheels. The ZZ refer to the shields one for each side.

Bearing Headquarters Company They are a national company with many locations. Their part number is H69BH35775 647ZZ NSK Shield BRG Bothsides I believe the manufacturer is NSK. I was told these are made for electric motors and rated to run at 20,000…

I buy my bearings from bearing supply companies. The ones I have are 100% sealed, never need to be re-lubricated and are smooth as glass.

I would replace both the plates and boots. I recently replaced my wife's old skates with roll-line variant C plates. As for boots, look for the style you like first, then weed it down to the the specific brands. I always try on new boots before t…

I prefer quad skates and so prefer indoor rinks. I too am very shy, so I go and will mostly just skate. My wife is not shy at all, and she enjoys the socializing as much as the skating.

One of my first instructors told me to practice falling. I did, and that trained me to usually fall so I only hurt my pride.

My wife broke her wrist and after that has worn wrist braces with inserts on bot hands. I have not broken anything, and prefer to not wear anything with my skates.

Skating is a social activity, many people skate for that community. I skate because I love to skate. I started skating as a kid, but have come and gone from skating. I have skated regularly for that last 12 years now. Unfortunately I have seen a…

If you get vertigo, try searching for "Half-Somersault or Foster Maneuver" there is a simple exercise I have used to get rid of the dizziness. When spinning on skates I pick a point at one end of the rink or the other and focus on that po…

I bought my wife the updated Varient C's, she is very happy with those plates.
