I always heard ceramic were the best. So I bought them and they were actually my least favorite. They completely locked one time and it was weird. Someone explained to me that ceramic bearings are good for top load only. But skating (especially …

Hi Karabear. I see no one saw this thread, not sure if you're still around. I would recommend going to the roller rink and renting some skates. See if you like that type of skate (most of the time they have a high heal and are leather). Some rin…

Oh, you already have three pairs of skates!!! ;) Oh yes DEFINITELY the Sure Grip 73 IMO. But always lead with your heart, if you love a certain pair of skates, then just use em. As long as your having fun and have good support, there's really n…

Oh, I hear great things about the Arius plates. Do you like it? Is the cushion system hard?

You can dance on anything you're comfortable with. You mean like rhythm skating, or like fancy type figure skating? If you mean rhythm, then you can pretty much skate on anything that you feel comfortable. The toe-stop is going to limit your mov…

Also, Bboy, check your messages on this forum, I just sent you a link to a party in Connecticut. As it's not my party, I don't want to post it publicly.

My old rhythm skates came with some standard cushions and a 15 degree angle (hard cushions). Before I started changing cushions I used to loosen my trucks. I liked them loose. Then when I upgraded, I went with SOFT cushions and I feel like I ne…

Hat's off, and a lot of respect! You kept skating in your heart and I'm sure you did more than your part to contribute and share that joy with the next few generations. Good luck in your journey! Light and love. Peace and blessings.

Oh yeah, what do you mean by barrels? Barrel Rolls???

I really only dance on my skates. Mostly rhythm skating. I REALLY REALLY REALLy prefer soft cushions. My upper cushion is SOFT and my lower cushion is EXTRA soft. I can turn on a dime, get DEEP edges, and spinning seems easier. Oh yes slalom is…

Oh hello! This is one of my favorite topics. I would recommend a really old series of videos that covers all easy and beginner basic moves from three different views. The back, the front and then slowed down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBU…

I have a flat foot, so it's really hard to tell what's gonna work for you. I went from a Reidell Juice to Edea Classica, and it was the best thing I ever did. The problem going to a 70 stiffness is that you may mess up your ankle. That's why I'd …

Generally the spins don't use jam plugs or toe stoppers, you gotta have balance.

Nah they weren't vintage wheels. People say the old ones lasted longer? Not sure. Going fast around corners on FMH's! 😂Been there! Oh god, the pain!! have friends that swear by Rollerbones, but for some reason I really didn't like them. I wi…

No pics. Hahaha, yeah that reminds me of when I used to roller skate outside as a kid. I had some cheap Caldor roller skates and the wheels were also like stone. I remember so many bumps that my eyesight was blurry. However I don't remember pebb…

I broke my ass on those things! Turns out I'm not as good as I thought! They sounded like a low flying airplane at the rinks. I thought I was the sliding queen and slid into the wall. My knee hurt for a year. Then someone wanted to trade some A…

I did once. It was okay, but I ruined my wheels. (Fo-Mac Harmony). I was skating streets. The small rocks/debris/pebbles got stuck in my wheels. Ugh. They got chewed up.

Did you come from inline skating?

Oooops! I didn't realize this was Doc Skates thread! Sorry!!!! Hahaha, I thought this was in the General question category!!! I deleted my comment.

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but I have a friend in San Diego that skates. Maybe this could help.? https://www.facebook.com/groups/179419018905756/

Oh those spinners are great. I used them to learn spinning on inline, quad and ice skates. My son and I call it the human hamster wheel, because it's so much fun. It really does help

I think it just depends on the rink. I go to one in Connecticut and they REALLY enforce masks. They will call you out if you don't have it on. I went to one in NJ and by the end of the night, I was the only one wearing it...but I'm a nurse so....

If you wanted inline skates, I got something close to this for my son when he was about 3... and they were absolutely fantastic... https://www.inlineskates.com/K2-Raider-Adjustable-Kids-Inline-Skates/547500P,default,pd.html?src=cpc&utm_source=g…

Hmmm. Roller skates or inline skates? I got some of these for my god-daughter... I mean, they are just to get her started, but she loves them more than anything in the world. Did you want something professional? If not, these are fine.. https://…
