  • Ice skates melt a small groove in the ice as you're skating. You push against the side of that groove and since the ice is anchored to the planet, you can push against it with all your might and it'll never move. Inline and roller skates don't do that as they're just sitting on top of the surface. That means that they can sometimes lose contact with the surface and slip. This difference between ice skating and inline/roller makes ice skating more "efficient", thus making you faster and more agile than inline/roller.

  • If you want to faster, you must first learn how to push faster. Proper technique and tricks are a must to achieve the speed you want. But too much of everything is not good at all. Increasing the speed means increasing your safety and precautionary measures as you perform your tricks.

  • When it comes to indoor ice skating attire, choose pants, long-sleeved shirts, socks, and gloves. Avoid anything that is excessively revealing or confining, as this will make you more vulnerable to injuries and the cold.
