Skate Shops On The Internet

Which online skate shops do you recommend for buying inline skates, quad roller skates or ice skates and related supplies? What is their Web site address, do you know where they are based (country and city) and can you tell us anything about them?

  • Very good reviews of inline skates, roller skates and ice skates at https://skatingoutdoorsports.com. This will help you buy good quality skating products.

  • Sorry to say most of review are just useless....

You can only make a good review if used for a long time and experience with material knowledge.

  • I have physically been in the warehouse of Devaskation, as it's local for me. I decided to check it out one day not expecting anyone to be there as they're an online store, but was greeted by the owner and given a tour, it was awesome! They actually stock a lot of stuff and are very friendly! I would highly recommend them for most anything except for artistic skating, unfortunately they don't carry anything above a beginner level for that discipline.

For inline skates, Inline Warehouse has been good to me and occasionally has some nice sales.

Roller Skate Nation is good for lower end skates and some jam skates (particularly Vanilla skates).

It's not on this list, but I highly recommend Sin City Skates in San Diego. They specialize in roller derby, but of course there's always some equipment overlap. They also have a nice physical store location, stock a good amount of stuff, and are very friendly. I went there a while ago to check it out when I was in San Diego, and was given a tour and was able to try on some models of Riedell boots I've never tried before.

Because I'm primarily an artistic skater, for artistic skating equipment I would only buy from Skater's Oasis. It is owned by the mother of a world class men's freestyle skater, and she is extremely nice and helpful. They specialize in importing Italian skating products, including Roll-Line and Edea, and is the only place in the US you can buy the Skate Italia frames and Boiani Star wheels.

The other US distributor for Edea and Roll-Line is Skates US, but they overcharge an insane amount on everything they sell, including shipping. The only time I would ever order from Skates US instead of Skater's Oasis is if I absolutely needed a part that I could somehow get faster from them. The only time I have bought from them is in situations such as that, or at competitions where you can occasionally get a slightly reasonable price. However, the advantage is that they stock a ton of boots, and you can test any of them out at a competition.

  • There was a discussion in a facebook group a few weeks ago (before the shutdowns happened) that Skates.com was not sending out paid for orders, not responding to emails, and their voicemail inbox was full. Not sure if their issues have been resolved by now.

  • Just to say: you guys are lucky ones.

Somehow all goods in USA are much nicer priced compare to Europe etc.

  • I had a bad experience with Roller Skate Nation. In fact, I'm still having it. I say to avoid that place at all costs.
