Super Snyder Deluxe - pivot cup inserts?

Hi there, I’m renovating a pair of ‘60s vintage skates with super Snyder deluxe plates. I’ve got about everything figured out except for pivot cups/pivot cup inserts (same thing?). My plates did not have any of those black inserts that you can remove and I’m not sure if they are supposed to or not since these are older skates (the metal pivot point was fitted directly into plate hole). If so, do you know what size cups I would need? The metal on metal is already a tight fit, and not finding any info online unfortunately.

  • Your pivot cup looks fine to me. Snyder uses hardened steel pivot cups. The pivot pin in the truck is the wear part, so keep an eye on them and keep that joint lubed. Snyder recommends "oil". I have used moly engine break in lube quite successfully for 20 years. In summary, clean everything, lube it up and sk8.

  • Ah, wasn’t completely losing it. Thanks so much for the help and the tip. Will do so!
